Tottenham are eyeing a move for Feyenoord coach Arne Slott, 44.
“Tottenham are close to signing Slott and are planning a move this summer,” the Express reported on Thursday (June 24). 먹튀검증
“Spurs could emulate Manchester United’s swoop for Ajax by presenting Slott with two of Feyenoord’s top stars,” it added.
“Spurs could offer Slott a fee similar to United’s last summer transfer window,” the report added, noting that the Red Devils snapped up Lisandro Martinez and Anthony from Ajax after hiring manager Eric ten Hagh.
“Tottenham are expected to follow in United’s footsteps. They are interested in signing Feyenoord striker Santiago Jimenez and midfielder Orkun Kökçu.”
After retiring as a player in 2013, Slott made his coaching debut at AZ Alkmaar in 2019, leading the team to the top of the Dutch Eredivisie before heading to Dutch giants Feyenoord in 2021.
Under Slott, Feyenoord finished the 2021-22 season in third place. This season, they won the league title over traditional favorites Eindhoven and Ajax.
Tottenham are looking to part ways with Antonio Conte and bring in a new manager. Chairman Daniel Levy wants to stay with a young, up-and-coming coach for a long time. That’s why he’s looking at Slott.
If Slott is brought in, he will also bring his former Feyenoord players with him. “Jimenez is the team’s top scorer with 15 goals in 31 league games,” the outlet said. Kökçu is a product of the club’s academy and is the club’s captain.”
However, competition for his signature is expected to be fierce. “Aston Villa, Brentford, Brighton, and Crystal Palace are all keeping tabs on Jimenez,” according to British outlet 90min.
