It’s a big ‘Tottenham love’.
Coach Ryan Mason has once again chosen to stay at Tottenham. “Mason has decided to stay at Tottenham as part of the first-team coaching staff after meeting with manager Enze Postecoglou,” the UK’s Daily Mail reported on Wednesday.
Mason, 32, has been in temporary charge of Tottenham on two occasions. In April 2021, he led Spurs as acting manager after Jose Mourinho was sacked. In seven games, he won four and lost three.
He was given the job again at the end of the recently concluded 2022-2023 season. After Antonio Conte was sacked, Christian Sturridge was brought in as acting manager. However, he only managed two wins, one draw, and three losses in six games.
Mason believes that age is just a number and hopes to become a full-time manager this time around, but his hopes were dashed when he failed to get the job.
Mason received offers from several clubs in the Championship (second division). A parting of the ways was likely. But Postecoglu and Tottenham couldn’t resist.
Mason is a former Tottenham youth player. During his playing days, he shared the field with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
However, he spent more time on loan and on the bench. In August 2016, he moved to Hull City in search of a new challenge.
However, in January 2017, he collided with Gary Cahill against Chelsea and went down with a serious skull fracture. Luckily, the surgery was successful, but his return to the field was ruled out.
Mason took an early retirement at the age of 26 and joined Tottenham’s coaching staff in April 2018, a link that would continue into the following season. 스포츠토토
Postecoglou is also keen to bring back John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan, both of whom he worked with at Celtic. Both coaches are also interested in joining the Spurs. The Spurs are currently in talks with Celtic to terminate the contracts of both coaches.
