The NC Dinos spent a meaningful day with former SK Wyverns manager Lee Man-soo.
Prior to their home game against the Lotte Giants on April 10, the Dinos held a ceremony with the Hulk Foundation, a charity organization led by Lee Man-soo, to donate supplies to a baseball team in Laos. Lee founded the nonprofit Hulk Foundation in November 2014 after stepping down as SK’s manager, using his nickname “Hulk” from his playing days. Since then, he has traveled across the country to donate his talents to baseball prospects and act as a midwife to spread baseball to sports barren areas, including Laos.메이저사이트
In particular, he has been planting baseball seeds and nurturing dreams in Southeast Asia by founding the Lao J Brothers, the first baseball team in Laos, and promoting the establishment of the Lao Baseball Association and the construction of baseball fields. NC supported the dreams of the Hulk Foundation Laos Baseball Team and provided about 600 pieces of 15 types of team equipment, including undershirts, uniform bottoms, windbreakers, and bags. The items will be delivered to the Lao national team and high school and college baseball teams created to promote baseball in Laos, and will be used for training.
To commemorate the donation, former manager Lee Mansoo threw out the ceremonial first pitch. NC’s Kim Hyung-jun, the inaugural winner of the Lee Man-soo Catcher Award in 2017, served as the catcher. Prior to the game, Lee Man-soo and Kim Hyung-jun held an autograph session and met with fans.
Lee Man-soo said, “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the NC Dinos and the team for organizing such a great time for baseball in Laos. This kind of interest and support will really help to spread baseball in Southeast Asia, and I would like to ask for a lot of support for the Lao baseball team’s first victory at the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games.”
“The work that Mansoo Lee and the Hulk Foundation are doing in Korea and other baseball-barren countries is in line with NC’s goal of inspiring young people to dream, develop, and grow through baseball. We look forward to a great partnership with NC’s community outreach program, D-NATION.”
